About the Artist

I studied at Bath Academy of Art in the late 1960's and was rewarded with a Diploma in Art and Design, specialising in ceramics.

It wasn't until the early 90's though, that I started to paint, firstly in watercolour then soft pastels which I still love to use.

By eagerly experimenting with different mediums I find acrylics and textured mediums exciting to work with.

I have a passion for water and much of my work portrays it. Usually it is the fascination with fast moving water that excites and inspires me to make it come alive for the viewer.

I also have a fascination for portraiture for which I have now added a section to my gallery. I am available for commissions in this area.

2007 - winner of the Calder Graphics Prize at Holmefirth Art Week.

2008 - prize winner at Thorseby Gallery 'Open' Exhibition

2010 - winner of the Daler-Rowney 'professional artist' category of their on-line global competition "Make Your Mark".

I have also exhibited at the Mercer
Gallery, Harrogate and Harewood House
